The Irish Grocers Benevolent Fund (IGBF) has recently announced the return of its annual Fun Run series for 2026, marking a historic milestone: the 10th anniversary of these beloved industry events.

This year’s series is set to be the biggest and most impactful to date, bringing together hundreds of colleagues from across the Irish grocery and retail sectors.

  • The Dublin Fun Run: Saturday, 6 June 2026, at Leopardstown Racecourse.
  • The Cork Fun Run: Saturday, 20 June 2026, at Mallow Racecourse.

This year’s 10th anniversary runs are expected to break all previous attendance records, reflecting the incredible growth and solidarity within the Irish grocery trade.

Supporting its own: The work of the IGBF

While the Fun Runs are a day of celebration, fun and fitness, their core purpose remains the support of the IGBF’s mission.

For over 60 years, the Fund has provided a critical safety net for colleagues in the grocery, wholesale, and retail trades who have fallen on hard times.

Whether due to illness, bereavement, or financial hardship, the IGBF offers a helping hand to those who have dedicated their careers to keeping Ireland’s shelves stocked and communities served.

All proceeds from the 2026 Fun Runs will go directly toward providing financial assistance and support services to these colleagues and their families.

A heartfelt thank you to its sponsors

The IGBF would like to extend its deepest gratitude to the many companies who have stood by it over the last decade.

Its sponsors are more than just financial contributors; they are partners in its mission.

Their unwavering support has allowed the IGBF to scale these events and, more importantly, has enabled it to reach more people in need across the industry.

It is incredibly grateful for the generosity shown by both long-standing partners and new sponsors who have joined the IGBF family.
