The cycle was dedicated to the memory of the late Noreen Walsh

This year’s Irish Grocers’ Benevolent Fund (IGBF) Tour de Grocers which took place on 17 and 18 June 2026, raised much needed funds for the charity.
The event began at Faithlegg Hotel in County Waterford, with participants cycling to the Radisson Blu Hotel & Spa, Little Island, Cork, before making the return journey the following day.
Throughout the 300km route, cyclists were met with warm hospitality and encouragement, reflecting the spirit that defines our industry.
This year’s cycle was supported by principal sponsor Barilla, whose commitment helped make the event possible and reinforced the importance of supporting the invaluable work of the IGBF.
‘Fitting tribute’
IGBF noted that most poignantly, the cycle was dedicated to the memory of the late Noreen Walsh, a much-loved and respected figure whose kindness, professionalism and friendship touched so many throughout the our sector.
The event served as a fitting tribute, with participants honouring her legacy through their efforts, determination and generosity, it added.
Beyond the kilometres covered, the Tour De Grocer Cycle highlighted the strength of an industry that continually comes together to support its own.
