The Irish Grocers Benevolent Fund (IGBF) is pleased to announce the success of the president of Appeals Ball, ‘Chic Mystique’ , held on Friday, 24 October last at the Intercontinental Hotel, Ballsbridge.

The black-tie event, hosted by president of Appeals Simon Marriott, welcomed almost 400 guests from across the retail, wholesale and supplier sectors for an evening of celebration, networking and fundraising in support of colleagues within the grocery trade.

Entertainment on the night was provided by Irish Rock Violinists Sephira, followed by performances from The Groovitas Band and DJ.

The event was hosted by MC Sonya Lennon, with an address from IGBF president of Appeals Simon Marriott.

Guests participated in a series of raffles and prize draws, featuring the main prize of an electric car worth €20,000, sponsored by Flogas.

Paying tribute

The IGBF has expressed its gratitude for the continued generosity and support shown by all attendees and contributors, as well as the support of this year’s president of Appeals, Simon Marriott.

Paying tribute, Frances Higgins, chairperson of IGBF, said: “This support enables the Fund to continue its work assisting more than 200 people annually across the trade who find themselves in need.

“When our Supplier, Wholesale and Retail colleagues come together to celebrate, network and support each other, magic really does happen!

“It’s this unwavering and continuous support that enables the IGBF to continue its work helping those across our trade who find themselves in need of our help.”

The next IGBF event is the annual Christmas Lunch, which is being held in the Clayton Hotel, Ballsbridge on Friday, 5 December.
