Tenderstem has teamed up with Irish chef, author and food creator Daniel Lambert to inspire home cooks to bring restaurant-worthy flavour to their kitchens with three new recipes.
The collaboration aims to show how a few simple techniques, creative flavour pairings and delicious ingredients can transform everyday meals into something special, with Tenderstem broccoli taking centre stage.
Known for its sweet, slightly nutty flavour and signature crunch, Tenderstem provides the perfect base for the recipes, which combine punchy sauces, contrasting textures and thoughtful finishing touches to help home cooks experiment with confidence.
Three recipes to inspire creativity in the kitchen
Daniel has developed three recipes that demonstrate the versatility of Tenderstem, encouraging consumers to look beyond traditional ways of serving vegetables and explore new flavour combinations.
The recipes include:
- Tenderstem broccoli with black garlic whipped tahini, chilli oil, sesame and crispy chickpeas – a combination of creamy tahini, warming chilli and crunchy chickpeas
- butter-glazed Tenderstem with beetroot hummus, brown butter cashews and pickled raisin escabeche – bringing together buttery, sweet and sharp flavours in a colourful dish
- soy-glazed Tenderstem with satay sauce, pineapple and toasted almonds – pairing savoury soy glaze with sweet pineapple, nutty satay sauce and toasted almonds.
Each recipe highlights how simple additions, from a flavour-packed sauce to a crunchy or acidic garnish, can turn a familiar ingredient into the star of the plate.
Small touches make a big difference
Daniel Lambert, Tenderstem ambassador, said home cooks do not need professional kitchen experience to create impressive dishes.
“People sometimes look at a restaurant-style dish and think there’s no way they could make it at home, but often it’s the small things that make the biggest difference,” Lambert said.
He added: “It could be adding a really good sauce, getting a bit of char on an ingredient, or finishing a dish with something crunchy or acidic. That’s what I wanted to show with these recipes.”
“Tenderstem is brilliant to cook with because it’s quick, it has great texture and it works with so many different flavours. You can do something really simple with it or take it up a notch and make it the star of the plate. Most importantly, these are dishes home cooks can actually make and enjoy at home,” he commented.
A versatile vegetable for everyday cooking
Tenderstem can be eaten from top to tip, meaning there is no need to peel or trim the stalk. Its versatility also makes it suitable for a range of cooking methods, including grilling, roasting, steaming, stir-frying and air-frying.
Cooking in just minutes, it offers a convenient way for consumers to add more greens to their meals while experimenting with different textures and flavours.
Lorraine Fountain, senior commercial manager at Tenderstem, said the collaboration was designed to encourage shoppers to think differently about how they serve vegetables.
“Daniel’s recipes are exactly the kind of food we want people to look at and think, ‘I want to make that.’ They look fantastic and have loads of flavour, but they’re still dishes you can recreate in your own kitchen,” Fountain said.
She added: “We’d love these recipes to encourage home cooks to go beyond simply serving their greens on the side and discover what else they can do with them.”
Supporting Irish growers and increasing brand visibility
Fountain also highlighted the brand’s work with Irish growers as part of its wider year-round supply of Tenderstem.
The company’s new branded packaging is now appearing on shelves, providing shoppers with a more recognisable way to identify the product in-store.
The collaboration with Lambert forms part of Tenderstem’s wider effort to inspire consumers with new recipe ideas and demonstrate the vegetable’s versatility beyond traditional side dishes.
