Supermarket retailer Iceland, which specialises in frozen food but offers a complete grocery and fresh range too, opened its 26th Irish store this morning at Redmond Square in Wexford. The new shop is Iceland’s second in the Model County, following the Gorey store, which opened in August 2017.

The new Iceland store spans 7,890 sq ft and brings 25 new jobs to Wexford just in time for the Christmas season. The opening is also just in time for Iceland’s Great Turkey Give-away, whereby customers who spend €100 or more will recieve a free  5kg turkey in their trolley.

Ron Metcalfe, managing director of Iceland Ireland said the company is thrilled to open the new store in Wexford. “We have had fantastic support from our customers in Gorey,” he said, “and we are looking forward to growing our base in Wexford by further supplying quality produce and innovative frozen favourites.”

Meanwhile, store manager Kate Szkaradek added that the Wexford team is excited to welcome shoppers and showcase the extensive range of Irish and International produce on offer. “We look forward to showing you what Iceland is all about,” Szkaradek said. “Innovation, quality and great value!”
