Discover the Wines of Tuscany with Il Vicolo Wine Tours

Il Vicolo Luxury Wine Tours are run by Gerry McMahon of Galway’s Il Vicolo restaurant and wine bar, in partnership with Colm Carter of Honest2Goodness Wine Company. Launched in 2017, the tours take a group of wine-lovers off the beaten track to some of the most beautiful regions of Italy to discover the essence of the country and all it has to offer through its wine, food, and culture. The next tour will take place from 21 – 25 October, with a five-day trip to Tuscany, venturing into the cultural heartlands of Siena, Florence and Montalcino. Gino D’Acampo launches “real Italian food” range with Iceland Foods

Italian chef Gino D’Acampo has created a range of Italian frozen meals, all made in Italy and free from artificial ingredients, colourings and flavourings. D’Acampo has chosen Iceland as the Irish supermarket partner for the range, which is available in stores now. Along with the ready meals, there is also a range of sauces that people can enjoy with pasta and main meals, including favourite classics: Lasagne, Cannelloni, Aubergine Parmigiana and, Gino’s own personal favourite, Mia’s Meatballs – inspired by his seven-year-old daughter!

Waterford is winner of Foodie Destinations 2019

Waterford has been announced as the winner of Foodie Destinations 2019, an initiative run the Restaurants Association of Ireland, sponsored by FBD Insurance. The winner was revealed at a ceremony in Kilkenny’s Mount Juliet. Votes from the public were combined with a score from a judging visit to decide the overall winner. Taste Causeway came in second place, and The Food Coast Donegal came in third place.
