Costcutter, owned by Barry Group, has announced its exclusive charity partnership with Vision Ireland for 2025.
This marks a significant milestone for both organisations and reflects Barry Group’s commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) as one of the core pillars of its five-year strategy.
This partnership builds on a relationship established last year when Costcutter supported Vision Ireland’s Dip at Dawn event.
The collaboration now evolves into a full-year commitment, offering consistent support to Vision Ireland in its mission to assist individuals living with blindness and vision impairment across Ireland.
“At Barry Group, we believe in the power of community and the importance of giving back. Partnering with Vision Ireland allows us to turn these values into meaningful action,” said Jim Barry, managing director, Barry Group.
Barry noted that supporting such a vital cause not only strengthens its connection to local communities but also helps create a positive and lasting impact for those facing sight loss.
Vision Ireland
Vision Ireland, the national sight loss organisation, provides a wide range of services, including vision rehabilitation, assistive technology training, emotional support, and accessible education programmes.
These services enable individuals with visual impairments to live independently and participate fully in society.
Additionally, Vision Ireland works to promote early detection of vision issues through community outreach and awareness initiatives, ensuring that individuals have access to timely interventions.
Vital awareness
“This collaboration will allow us to extend our services and raise vital awareness about sight loss and eye health across Ireland,” said Kevin Whelan, head, Vision Ireland.
Costcutter’s support is invaluable in helping Vision Ireland reach more individuals and ensure they have access to the tools and support they need to lead fulfilling lives.
“Costcutter stores are deeply embedded in the communities they serve. This partnership with Vision Ireland is a chance for us to give back in a meaningful way. Together, we can raise awareness about sight loss and support Vision Ireland’s invaluable work in helping individuals overcome barriers to independence,” said Paul Roche, head, Costcutter.
Fundraising initiatives
Throughout the year, Costcutter will actively participate in fundraising initiatives and awareness campaigns. Building on the success of last year’s Dip at Dawn, Costcutter and Vision Ireland will introduce new events to engage local communities while raising vital funds.
This partnership exemplifies Barry Group’s dedication to fostering positive change through impactful collaborations. By teaming up with Vision Ireland, Costcutter is setting a powerful example of how businesses can lead with purpose and compassion.
