On 19 July 2026, Revenue officers seized 82,660 cigarettes, 79 kg of tobacco and 217 litres of alcohol at Dublin Port during a routine operation.

The seized products have an estimated value of over €147,100, representing a potential loss to the Exchequer of over €117,800.

The tobacco products were detected with the assistance of Revenue’s mobile x-ray scanner and mobile x-ray baggage scanner.

This seizure forms part of Revenue’s ongoing operations targeting the ‘shadow economy and the supply and sale of illegal tobacco products’.
