Revenue seize 82,660 cigarettes at Dublin Port
This seizure forms part of Revenue’s ongoing operations targeting the 'shadow economy and the supply and sale of illegal tobacco products'

On 19 July 2026, Revenue officers seized 82,660 cigarettes, 79 kg of tobacco and 217 litres of alcohol at Dublin Port during a routine operation.
The seized products have an estimated value of over €147,100, representing a potential loss to the Exchequer of over €117,800.
The tobacco products were detected with the assistance of Revenue’s mobile x-ray scanner and mobile x-ray baggage scanner.
