Spar Parkwest named National Convenience Store of the Year 2013
Dynamic duo David and Shirley Bagnall scooped the overall supreme award at this year's ShelfLife C-Store Awards
28 November 2013
Spar Parkwest, Dublin 12, owned and run by dynamic couple David and Shirley Bagnall, has been named as Ireland’s top convenience store by industry magazine ShelfLife at an awards ceremony in Dublin on 27 November 2013. The store, which was opened in 2002, displays the very best in terms of product offering, store hygiene and customer service. "With consistent and unparalleled store standards throughout every department, Spar Parkwest is the best in the country and the standard to which all other stores should aspire," was how the judges described it.
The ShelfLife Convenience Store Awards, now in its 13th year, was set up to acknowledge stores and individuals that set the standards for the industry. The 2013 C-Store Champion Award was presented to Senator Feargal Quinn for his contribution to Ireland’s retail industry and customer service ethos.
He also used his vast retail experience to front a TV series designed to help struggling independent, family retailers to compete with multinationals by focusing on what makes them unique as local retailers at the heart of their communities. Coincidentally the award was made to Senator Quinn on the occasion of his 77th birthday.
The Irish Daily Mail will feature a report on this year’s award winners in tomorrow’s paper.
