M&S announce Plan A Award winners at Balmoral
Marks & Spencers supplier Country Crest has been rewarded for its commitment to the environment with a M&S ‘Plan A in Action’ Award

A local supplier to M&S has been rewarded for his supplier excellence in animal welfare, environment and ethical issues at the M&S Plan A Awards, which took place at the Balmoral Show. Michael Hoey of Country Crest in Lusk, County Dublin scooped the ‘Plan A in Action’ Award for his contribution to biodiversity, investment in sustainable energy and an on-site bird sanctuary.
Country Crest Farm, supplies onions to M&S, and submitted a comprehensive entry outlining their investment in green energy which has already significantly reduced gas and electricity bills. In addition to engaging local communities and schools, the farm is involved in developing food production and horticultural skills in Haiti, Lesotho and other under developed countries.
