Alpro steps into on-the-go opportunity 

Alpro is stepping into new territory with the launch of two new on-the-go products. Alpro Go On (MRSP: €1.59) is a single serve soya alternative to yogurt that is high in plant protein with a thick, smooth texture sitting on a layer of real fruit; while Alpro Fusion (MRSP: €2.29) is the brand’s latest on-the-go single serve drink offer – combining soya or coconut with a fusion of fruits in a handy 330ml tetrapak. The launches will be supported by a fully integrated marketing campaign.

Ireland sets new Guinness World Record for largest beer tasting

After three fantastic days of craft beer, spirits and cider, the Alltech Craft Brews and Food Fair closed its doors on Sunday at the Convention Centre Dublin. Now in its fourth year, the festival attracted more than 10,000 visitors and officially became a world record breaker. The Guinness World Record for the world’s largest beer tasting was smashed on the opening evening, Friday, 5 February. Ireland now holds the record with 729 people simultaneously tasting three beers. The record was previously held by Mexico with 714 participants.

Food training workshops to build an appetite for Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann

More than 50 Clare businesses operating in the hospitality sector attended an information evening at the Temple Gate Hotel in Ennis on Tuesday, 2 February 2016. The Local Enterprise Office Clare organised the event in preparation for the hosting of Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann in Ennis this August. More than 400,000 people are set to visit Clare for the event.
