Simon Community and Nestlé partnership spells for bright future 

The Simon Community today announced it is renewing its partnership with Nestlé Ireland for ongoing support. Over the past six years Nestlé Ireland has provided over 2,500,000 (two and a half million) cups of Nescafé coffee to the Dublin and Cork Simon Communities services which work to prevent and address homelessness. Nestlé’s involvement with the ‘Food for Simon’ programme has more recently been augmented with Nestlé’s KitKats now being provided to the supported housing services.

Parcel Connect and Fastway Couriers sign multi-million euro deal with delivery management platform Scurri

Parcel Connect, a service that takes the hassle out of online shopping by allowing customers to send, collect and return online goods directly or via their local Payzone shop, has signed a multi-million euro contract with Irish-based delivery management platform Scurri. The contract, which Parcel Connect has signed alongside its parent company, Fastway Couriers Ireland, will see Scurri facilitate the delivery of over €3.4bn worth of merchandise value, forecast to be ordered through online retailers such as Littlewoods, ASOS, BooHoo and MissGuided, over the next five years.

Ireland’s number one poultry brand, Moy Park has been awarded a CIM Marketing Excellence Ireland Award for ‘Best FMCG Retail including Online’ for the launch of its innovative Roast in the Bag product range. The brand was also named runner up in the Food and Drink category. The prestigious CIM Ireland Marketing Excellence Awards celebrate, recognise and reward the best marketing achievements and outstanding creativity across various industry sectors in Ireland. The ceremony was held in Titanic Belfast on 12 November 2015.

Potato King wins Marketer of the Year 2015 Award

Tom Keogh of Keogh’s was announced as Marketer of the Year 2015 at a ceremony held in Dublin, Wednesday, 11 November 11. The marketing.ie event was sponsored by Alternatives Group. The judging panel felt Tom Keogh’s story was a standout in terms of ingenuity and inventiveness, adopting as it did, a clever, informed approach to marketing with product innovation and quality at its core.

Entries for Dublin Craft Beer Cup and Dublin Craft Cider Cup now open!

The Dublin Craft Beer Cup is a unique competition that allows craft brewers to showcase their beers and have them rated, tasted and analysed by an international panel of beer experts. Due to popular demand, the competition has expanded in order for craft cider makers to have their own dedicated cider cup. Craft brewers and cider makers are welcome to submit their entries online at eu.alltechbrewsandfood.com/dublin-cup. The closing date for applications is 15 January, 2016.

ParcelHero predicts Singles Day will conquer UK as sales top $14bn

Following record sales for Singles Day on 11 November, mainly from China, the global delivery expert ParcelHero is predicting it is inevitable that Singles Day will be embraced in the UK in 2016. ParcelHero’s head of public relations, David Jinks MILT says: “Currently Singles Day is overwhelmingly centred on China, but sales of $14.3bn will not go unnoticed in the west. In contrast Cyber Monday, which is the biggest online shopping day in the west, reached a ‘mere’ $2.68bn last year.”
