Bon appétit from Swizzels as new Drumstick and Refresher Bon Bons launch in time for Bastille Day

Swizzels is launching a new range that sees household favourites Drumsticks and Refreshers transformed into chewy, lemon and strawberry and milk and raspberry flavoured, fizzy-centred Bon Bons. Originating in France in the 1600s and translating to “doubley good”, Bon Bons are a perfect partner for the brands. Häagen-Dazs celebrates ‘Real or Nothing’ summer campaign

Häagen-Dazs showcased its ‘Real or Nothing’ summer campaign with an event in House on Lesson Street on Tuesday, 14 July. The venue was transformed into an ice-cream paradise, with a tempting selection of toppings to accompany Häagen-Dazs vanilla ice cream. Belvedere Vodka awarded Vodka Producer of the Year at ISC 2015

Belvedere Vodka, the world’s original luxury vodka, has been named Vodka Producer of the Year at the International Spirits Challenge 2015 (ISC), one of the world’s largest, oldest and most respected blind-taste spirits competitions. Tiger Stores Opens 17th Irish Store at Blanchardstown Centre

Cheap and cheerful homewares retailer, Tiger Stores opened its 17th Irish store on Wednesday July 15, at Blanchardstown Centre in West Dublin. Bringing 25 new jobs to the centre, and spanning 198 square metres, Tiger is a great addition to the mall. Tiger Stores was established in Copenhagen in 1995 by Lennart Lajboschitz, who started out running a market stall in Copenhagen’s Israel Square. The first Irish store opened in Dun Laoghaire, Co Dublin, in 2011.

Magazines Ireland calls for 0% VAT on magazines in the budget

Magazines Ireland, the association of Irish magazine publishers, has asked the Minister for Finance Michael Noonan to reduce the VAT rate on magazines to 0% in Budget 2016. “Many of our European neighbours enjoy more attractive rates of VAT on magazines. Our nearest neighbour, the UK, enjoys a 0% VAT rate giving them significant advantages over indigenous Irish publishers”, said chairman Rebecca Markey. She also highlighted that in recent years, members had “been hit with huge increases across the entire cost base”.
