Alongside other refinements to Deliveroo’s technology and operations, the algorithm has already helped cut delivery time by 20%. For Deliveroo’s 500+ restaurants in Ireland, Frank has significant benefits, with machine-learning helping to predict the time it will take to prepare the meal based on a specific type of order as well as on the time of day, all helping to streamline the experience from order to restaurant to customer. And thanks to improved allocation of orders and reduced restaurant waiting time, Deliveroo’s 400+ Irish riders can now complete more deliveries per hour as they travel with food for an average of just seven minutes, allowing them to earn more cash without working extra hours.
