Aldi has been named retailer of the year and drinks retailer of the year at the 2026 Ireland Quality Food and Drink Awards (IQFDAs) for the second consecutive year.
The retailer collected 65 awards across food and drink categories at the ceremony, which took place at the Mansion House in Dublin on 16 September.
Double success for Aldi
The awards add to Aldi’s track record at the IQFDAs, with the retailer once again securing the event’s top retail accolades.
“The IQFDAs are a wonderful recognition of the quality and value we offer our customers, as well as the hard work and innovation of our supplier partners,” John Curtin, head of commercial at Aldi Ireland, said.
He added: “Being named retailer of the year alongside drinks retailer of the year for the second year running is a tremendous achievement. We look forward to building on this success and continuing to bring customers an exciting range of quality products at great value.”
Specially selected products recognised
Two products from Aldi’s Specially Selected range also received major category awards.
The ‘Specially Selected Irish Wagyu Rib Eye Joint’, supplied by ABP Cahir, was named Christmas product of the year.
Meanwhile, the ‘Specially Selected Slow Roasted Confit Duck Fillets with Plum Sauce’, supplied by Silver Hill Duck and retailing at €7.99, was awarded overall product of the year.
Celebrating food and drink excellence
Now in its 13th year, the Ireland Quality Food and Drink Awards recognise excellence across Ireland’s food and drink sector.
Products are assessed by an independent panel of judges across a range of criteria including taste, provenance, value for money and innovation.
Aldi said the awards reflected the quality and value of its food and drink offering, as well as the contribution of its supplier partners.
