Revenue seize tobacco products worth over €41,800
Over 97 litres of alcohol with an estimated value of €1,450 was also seized

Over the week, commencing 20 July 2027, Revenue offers have seized tobacco products, with an estimated value of over €41,800, representing a potential loss to the exchequer of over €32,700.
The seizure is part of a bigger operation where the officers seized contraband with an estimated value of over €178,000 in various operations in Dublin, the Midlands, Kilkenny and Rosslare Europort.
Result of risk profiling
The detections were made as a result of risk profiling and intelligence led operations, and also included the following:
- 4.7 kg of herbal cannabis, with an estimated value of over €96,000
- Various other illicit drugs, with an estimated value of almost €18,300
- 32 counterfeit items with an estimated value of over €8,800
- Weapons and accessories with an estimated value of over €7,800
- Cash totalling €4,100
- Over 97 litres of alcohol with an estimated value of €1,450, representing a potential loss to the exchequer of over €900.
The herbal cannabis and illicit drug seizures were made as a result of risk profiling with assistance of detector dogs Sam & Ciara.
The parcels were destined for various addresses nationwide.
The counterfeit goods were seized as they were confirmed by the Rights Holder to have infringed on Intellectual Property Rights.
Two weapons and 2,600 weapons accessories were also seized.
Ongoing operations
Investigations into all seizures are ongoing.
These seizures are part of Revenue’s ongoing operations targeting smuggling and shadow economy activity.
