Revenue officers seize €1,900 worth of tobacco products
Collectively, Revenue officers seized contraband with an estimated value of over €153,000 in various operations

Over the past week, commencing 22 June 2026, Revenue officers seized tobacco products with an estimated value of €1,900 representing a potential loss to the Exchequer of almost €1,400.
Collectively, Revenue officers seized contraband with an estimated value of over €153,000 in various operations in Dublin, the Midlands, and Rosslare Europort.
Risk profiling
The detections were made as a result of risk profiling and intelligence led operations, and included the following:
- Approximately 5.3 kg of herbal cannabis with an estimated value of over €108,000.
- 155 counterfeit items with an estimated value of over €32,400.
- Various illicit drugs with an estimated value of over €5,600.
- Over 496 litres of alcohol with an estimated value of over €5,200, representing a potential loss to the Exchequer of almost €3,000.
The illicit drugs seizures were made as a result of risk profiling with assistance of detector dogs Ciara and Sam.
Packages were detected coming from the UK, the USA, France, Canada, Spain, Thailand and The Netherlands and were destined for various addresses nationwide.
The counterfeit goods were seized as they were confirmed by the Rights Holder to have infringed on Intellectual Property Rights.
Nineteen weapons, and weapons accessories, were also seized.
Ongoing investigations
Investigations into all seizures are ongoing.
These seizures are part of Revenue’s ongoing operations targeting smuggling and shadow economy activity.
