Aldi Ireland has announced a contract extension with ABP Food Group worth €15 million, ‘securing the future of its Irish Wagyu Beef Programme until at least the end of 2028’.
This renewed contract marks a’significant milestone’ in a partnership that has spanned more than two decades.
New products
Aldi and ABP are planning to expand the exclusive range with new products scheduled to hit shelves this autumn.
New additions to the Specially Selected Irish Wagyu range will include a Wagyu Sausages, Wagyu Mince, and the Ultimate Gourmet Wagyu Meatballs with a Sourdough Crumb.
In a statement, Peter Bough, buying director, Aldi Ireland, said: “At Aldi, we don’t believe that treating yourself to the best of Irish beef should be complicated. That’s why we work with premium Irish producers such as ABP.
“The success of our award-winning Wagyu range speaks for itself, and this €15 million investment with ABP allows us to take it to the next level.
“By investing in the future of our Wagyu farmers, we’ll continue to bring more premium products to our aisles this autumn, making everyday luxury accessible to all of our shoppers.”
Award-winning
Available in stores year-round, Aldi noted that its Specially-Selected Irish Wagyu range has quickly become ‘Ireland’s most-awarded Wagyu collection’.
Since joining the permanent range in 2024, Aldi’s Wagyu steaks have amassed several awards including wins at the Great Taste Awards, the World Steak Challenge, the International Taste Institute (ITQI), and Blas na hÉireann.
In 2025 alone, the ABP Wagyu products supplied to Aldi have won more than ten awards, bringing the total number of award wins to more than 25 in just two years.
