Galaxy Chocolate unveils Darren Kennedy as face of the 2016 Dublin Fashion Festival

Galaxy Chocolate recently unveiled TV presenter, designer and style influencer, Darren Kennedy, as Galaxy style ambassador and the face of the Dublin Fashion Festival, held in association with Galaxy. The announcement builds on Galaxy Chocolate’s long association with style, as an accessible luxury. Dublin Fashion Festival, which will be held from 5 – 11 September, will showcase the best of Dublin’s fashion for all – from high-street to high-end.

New Zealand wine exports up 10%

New Zealand’s wine industry is well on track to reach its target of $2 billion of exports by 2020, according to chair of New Zealand Winegrowers, Steve Green. The group’s annual report shows exports have risen 10% in the last year, to just under $1.6 billion; marking the 21st consecutive year of significant export growth. With demand strong, the improved supply from Vintage 2016 is expected to lift export volumes by a further 10% over the next 12 months.

Keelings announced as finalist in ‘Irish Quality Food and Drink Awards’

Keelings has been shortlisted for the finals of the prestigious Irish Quality Food and Drink Awards, taking place on 8 September at the Round Room, Mansion House in Dublin. Keelings Sweet Irish Strawberries were chosen from almost a thousand product entries across the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.

Brú Brewery wins four Gold Medals at prestigious World Beer Awards 

Brú Brewery, from Trim, Co. Meath, has won an impressive four gold medals and a Country Winner award at the 2016 World Beer Awards, including two gold medals for its lager. It has also won gold medals for its Irish Red Ale, Irish Stout and a Country Winner award for its Irish Craft IPA. Dave O’Hara from Brú explained that success followed the realisation that, “we wanted to brew a great tasting lager that everyone could enjoy, including my mum who is a coeliac”.
