Gala sponsors glamorous IFTAs ceremony

Glamour and glitz descended on the Double Tree Hilton Hotel recently for the inaugural IFTA Gala Television Awards. In the first year of Gala’s sponsorship of the awards, 25 awards were given out including a Lifetime Achievement Award for Comedy for Brendan O’Carroll. The ceremony, presented by host Amanda Byram, hosted almost 500 guests from the world of Irish television, who attended to celebrate and reward the very best of Irish creative talent and Irish home-grown TV programming.

Ready, Set, Bake! Stork announces partnership with The Great Irish Bake Off #BakeWithStork

Lily’s Tea has launched some brand new pyramid teas in new packaging, which will be stocked by Supervalu stores. This year Lily’s Tea has won awards from Great Taste and Blas na hEireann, and is delighted to be adding the following to its range; Pure White, Pure Mint, Merry Berry and Earl Grey Rosé – all selected and blended by Lily and Dom, in sunny Termonfeckin.

2015 winners announced at Boots Maternity & Infant Awards

The eight annual Boots Maternity & Infant Awards took place at a gala luncheon on Friday, 30 October 2015. Hosted by RTE’s Today Show presenter Maura Derrane and TV Presenter Brian Ormond, the awards were presented at the Double Tree by Hilton, Dublin. The awards recognise inspirational people and outstanding childcare service providers, as well as commending and celebrating the very best products and services for parents and babies in Ireland. Nation’s favourite family Halloween movies revealed in new Kelkin Popcorn research

Kelkin, an official supplier to Irish Rugby, teamed up with Rugby international Iain Henderson to reveal research showing Casper (17%) and The Goonies (17%) were the most popular Halloween movies for adults when they were growing up. Henderson’s own favourite was Hocus Pocus which came in a close third (16%). Almost one in three Irish parents (30%) watch a movie with their kids on Halloween night, three quarters of Irish adults think popcorn is the ideal snack to enjoy with a Halloween movie and 63% of parents think popcorn is a healthier option for trick or treats.

World Class 2016 kicks off quest to find cocktail maestro

World Class 2016 is officially underway. The first workshop for Ireland’s top bartenders took place last Wednesday, 21 October at The Morrison Hotel, Dublin. The workshop was hosted by Diageo Reserve Ambassadors Max La Rocca, Daniel Dove, Peter O’Connor and Ronan Massey, together with the reigning 2015 Irish World Class Bartender of the Year Anna Walsh from MVP. World Class is renowned as the industry’s most prestigious and respected mixology competition that involves a year-long journey of qualifiers and heats, and also showcases the Diageo Reserve portfolio of luxury spirits.

Astonish reports growth in Ireland

Astonish, the manufacturer of cruelty free cleaning products, has reported a 120% increase in sales in Ireland in the last financial year to £634,563 thanks to a renewed focus on exports to the country. Taking sales from £287,747 to over £630,000 has had a positive impact on the company’s bottom line. With dedicated efforts from the export team the business has allocated budget to support a marketing campaign in Ireland for the first time that it predicts will secure further listings and growth over the next 12 months.
