The Marketing Society of Ireland appoints new council chair for 2025

Orlagh Geraghty, head of brand marketing at Britvic Ireland, brings over 15 years of marketing experience and succeeds Mark Noble as chair

The Marketing Society of Ireland has recently announced the appointment of Orlagh Geraghty, head of brand marketing, Britvic Ireland part of the Carlsberg Group, as chair of the council for 2025, succeeding Mark Noble, marketing manager at The Heineken Company.
With more than 15 years marketing experience, Orlagh has established a strong track record working on some of Ireland’s leading FMCG brands.
Currently head of brand marketing at Britvic Ireland responsible for local favourites Club, 7UP & Energise and global icons Pepsi & Lipton. A graduate of UCD Michael Smurfit Business school, Orlagh possesses a strategic, commercial and creative mindset.
Core values
Sustainability is also core to her values, recently leading the introduction of the Deposit Return Scheme for Britvic Ireland and continues to chair the producer working group.
One of Orlagh’s highlight campaigns was the multi award winning relaunch of Ballygowan, Ireland’s No. 1 and original bottled water.
This campaign not only increased market share but also made a significant positive environmental impact by removing 1,500 tonnes of plastic waste.
Orlagh’s passion for brands and strategic thinking started in her first role at Danone and has continued to flourish throughout her career at Kerry, Mars and UCD Smurfit Business School & Britvic Ireland.
Speaking on her appointment, Orlagh said “As the newly appointed chair of the marketing society for 2025, I am honoured to take up the position. Building on the strong foundations laid by my predecessors and supported by our very talented team, I am committed to building on the high standards that already exist.”
Key focus
Orlagh’s key focus for 2025 will be to continue to celebrate the vibrant inclusive Marketing community with a focus on showcasing the critical role of marketing and insight leaders in driving growth.
“We will continue to host our thought leadership events that create great networking opportunities, celebrate research through our Research Excellence Awards and drive membership and growth of the society, Looking forward to another successful year ahead,” Orlagh noted.
