Tesco Ireland has completed the refit of its Dundrum Town Centre store adding new services including F&F clothing, Smokin’ Bean coffee station and enhanced Tesco Mobile area for customers in the South Dublin area. The new services and complete refit are a result of €1 million investment in the store to deliver a better shopping experience for customers.

Tesco customers in Dundrum will also have access to the Scan as You Shop facility in-store. As well as being able to track their spend as they do their weekly shop, particularly now with Covid-19 in mind, customers want to navigate the shop quickly and Scan as You Shop offers that.

“We’re pleased to have completed the refit and improvements to our Dundrum Town Centre store with the customer shopping experience firmly in mind,” said Geoff Byrne, chief operating officer at Tesco Ireland.

“We are very thankful to our colleagues and customers for their patience and support as we all worked to respond to Covid-19,” Byrne added, “all the time reviewing operations to introduce measures to protect health and safety in line with public health advice.”

The retailer has also emphasized its charitable initiatives, pointing out that the Dundrum Town Centre store has contributed over €40,000 to local projects as part of the Tesco Community Fund. In recent times it has supported fundraising efforts for Making Connections, Ballinteer Isolation Support Group and Friends of the Elderly.

As part of Tesco’s food surplus distribution programme, in partnership with FoodCloud, the Dundrum store has donated over 46,000 meals since 2014. The local causes donated to include Allen Cross Community Association, Dalkeith Storehouse, Crosscare Dundrum and Muslim Sisters of Eire.
