The consignment has an estimated retail value of over €7.7 million, which would represent a potential loss to the Exchequer of some €6.3 million.

The seizure of the tobacco branded ‘The Turner Original’, ‘EastEnders’, ‘Henley’ and ‘Flandria’, occurred during routine profiling with the assistance of Revenue’s mobile X-ray scanner and detector dog Waffle.

Revenue said the seizure is part of its ongoing operations targeting the supply and sale of illegal tobacco products.
