Pizza da Piero, Ireland’s favourite pizza bases made fresh daily in Dubin has won Gold in the Pizza category at the recent Irish Quality Food and Drinks Awards, which were held in The Round Room at the Mansion House on Wednesday, 6 September 2023.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of these prestigious awards, dedicated to recognising excellence in quality and taste.

Speaking about the win, Cliona Swan, co-founder, Pizza da Piero said: “We are immensely proud of our entire Pizza da Piero family. This award is a testament to our bakers, the trust and loyalty of our customers, the support from our suppliers, and the love from our families who’ve been with us every step of our journey.”

“As a family business, this achievement means the world to us and our children. We are deeply grateful for all the support,” she added.

The multi-award-winning pizza bases are crafted by Gianpiero De Vallier, fondly known as Piero, an Italian artisan baker with over 25 years of expertise. Piero, alongside his Irish wife Cliona Swan, founded The Artisan Pizza Company, better known as Pizza da Piero, in 2007. Since then, they have been producing award-winning delicious artisanal pizza bases, designed to make mealtimes fun and convenient for all the family.

Produced fresh daily in Rathcoole, Co Dublin, by Piero and his team, each pizza base boasts only 365 calories, and the mini bases contain just under 130 calories. Pizza da Piero pizza bases contain no artificial colours, preservatives, or flavourings. They are also vegan-friendly and dairy-free, making every bite kind to your tummy.

Piero’s journey began with his family’s Italian recipes, passed down through generations. His expertise in sourdough starters infuses each base with unbeatable quality and flavour. With a genuine Italian taste ready in only five minutes, it is the ideal family dinner solution – healthy, quick, and effortlessly catering to even the fussiest eaters.

Pizza da Piero mini size (5”) pizza bases are perfect for little ones who love to personalise their creations and the original (12”) bases are an opportunity to repurpose leftovers in the fridge, reducing food waste with creativity.

Choose from two sizes: Pizza da Piero’s original base pack, featuring two pizza bases, or the mini pack with four mini pizza bases. Both options are available nationwide at Supervalu, Tesco, Dunnes Stores, and independent grocery shops at RRP of €3.99.

Piero’s Fresh Pizza Sauce (250g), a fusion of garlic, basil, and thyme is also available in the fridge section of retail stores at RRP: €3.49.

The Irish business continues to invest in promoting its artisan sourdough pizza products by implementing strategic PR and digital media plans, with activities planned on Ireland’s top parenting websites during the autumn period.
