Mountain Dew Energy reaches Irish shores

Fans of popular energy drink, Mountain Dew Energy, are delighted that the brand is now available in Ireland.

After months of speculation and online conversation, Mountain Dew Energy, one of the most popular energy drinks globally, has reached Irish shores. The citrus flavoured energy drink has been popular in America since the 1940s and following a successful launch last year in the UK market, PepsiCo has decided to launch the brand in the Irish market. Elizabeth Sheehan, head of marketing, PepsiCo said: “We know that there are many fans of the brand in Ireland and that its launch here has been eagerly awaited. We have some really exciting activity coming up for Mountain Dew over the next few weeks when we will be rolling out a digital and experiential campaign to encourage consumers to get involved and to “Do the Dew” this summer”.

Globally Mountain Dew has remained popular in the youth market through universal associations with extreme sports and computer games. In Ireland the campaign will be focused mainly online.

Mountain Dew Energy will be available in retail outlets nationwide from the 21 February.
