Lidl Graduate Employee of the Year 2016 Robert Beirne ‘wastes’ no time in helping environment

Lidl graduate and winner of the Graduate Employee of the Year, Robert Beirne has been successfully growing his profile since receiving his award in May. He was recently recruited by Global Green for the Electric Picnic weekend to help with their waste management during the festival.

Beirne won the prestigious Graduate Employee of the Year award for demonstrating enthusiasm, initiative and skill, as well as adding significant value and contribution to the business success of Lidl. Graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Technology Management in 2012, Beirne completed the Lidl Graduate Programme in Logistics Management and was given full responsibility for all waste and recycling contracts for Lidl’s 184 stores and four regional distribution centres across the island of Ireland. Currently 85% of Lidl’s total waste is diverted away from landfill with an overall goal of hitting the ‘Zero Waste to Landfill’ mark.

#ThisIsMe: West Coast Cooler launches new campaign targeted at young females

West Coast Cooler launched a new advertising campaign with Ogilvy earlier this month. The key aim of the #ThisIsMe campaign was to rejuvenate the brand, creating a platform for West Coast Cooler to reconnect with young women in Ireland. West Coast Cooler wants to inspire women to celebrate their wonderful achievements, embrace their femininity and take pride in their individualism, encouraging them to say with confidence ‘This is Me’.

The campaign was launched with a video rolled out across digital and social channels. A stylish suite of Out-Of-Home six-sheets and Metropoles are also visible throughout Dublin, which encourage the target audience to ‘Shazam’ any of these posters, directing them to the #ThisIsMe video.

Keelings wins Fruit Category at Irish Quality Food and Drink Awards 

Keelings, Ireland’s leading producer and supplier of fresh produce, has won the fruit category at the finals of the prestigious Irish Quality Food and Drink Awards, which took place on 8 September at the Round Room, Mansion House in Dublin. Keelings Sweet Irish Strawberries were chosen from almost a thousand product entries across the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland, all of which went through weeks of tough judging at the Dublin Institute of Technology’s School of Culinary Arts and Food Technology.
