MediaVest announces senior appointments

Media planning and buying agency, MediaVest has announced the appointment of Michael Clancy as managing director. This appointment follows Aidan Greene moving to a position as deputy CEO of Core Media and Clancy’s promotion is part of a restructure within the agency which sees the expansion of the current board of directors to include three new members; Nicola Gillen, Helen O’Rourke and Colm Sherwin. All three are currently members of the MediaVest Executive Management Committee.

CEO of Agon, Sean Welch with former criminal mastermind Tony SalesSwiss manufacturers Agon Systems have announced a deal with Tony Sales, the man the British media famously dubbed “Britain’s Greatest Fraudster” to test their new Concept Tag “…beyond anything ever sanctioned by any tag manufacturer anywhere in the world.” In a statement Tony Sales said he felt this “shows real conviction on the part of that manufacturer in their product and a determination to deliver what they promise their retailer customers – an effective EAS system”.

An Port Mór, Westport awarded Bord Bia Just Ask Restaurant of the Month

An Port Mór restaurant in Westport, Co Mayo has been awarded Just Ask Restaurant of the Month for December. Bord Bia’s Just Ask campaign encourages diners to look for information on where the food on their plate comes from when eating out. The Restaurant of the Month award is given to restaurants and cafés that demonstrate best practice in providing customers with this information.

Landmark 40% CO2 reduction from Midleton’s €100 million distillery expansion

GEA Wiegand has successfully commissioned the key equipment and distillation process technology, supplied at the heart of Irish Distillers Pernod Ricard’s €100 million expansion project at its Midleton Distillery. The expansion was undertaken to meet the projected growth of the Irish whiskey category following a 10-fold increase in Jameson sales over the past 25 years. It has resulted in a CO2 reduction of 37,000 tonnes per annum.

Manor Refrigerated Cabinets and coolsuredoors improve manufacturing processes

Manor Refrigerated Cabinets and coolsuredoors, both operating as trading divisions of Manor Concepts Limited, are working in collaboration with the Manufacturing Advisory Service (MAS) to enhance lean manufacturing processes. Led by Manor Concepts’ operations director Martin Corken, the match-funded project involves ten individuals from various areas of the company taking part in ten days of training to help the business embrace lean and efficient processes.
