Marian Finucane on Radio 1: new sponsor announced
The Marian Finucane Show, RTÉ Radio One's top-rated weekend programme, has announced a new sponsorship deal with the Sunday Business Post.

The Marian Finucane Show is to be sponsored by The Sunday Business Post in a new deal announced by the broadcaster today.
Brokered by Carat Ireland, the sponsorship deal will include sponsor-credited stings, cross-station on-air promotion with other high-profile Radio 1 programmes including Morning Ireland, Liveline, Playback and Sunday with Miriam. Podcast and homepage sponsorship will be part of the deal also.
Tara Farrell, RTÉ Radio sponsorship manager, said the deal represents another strong endorsement of Radio 1’s programming output. “2016 continues to be a superb year for RTÉ Radio,” Farrell said. “We are delighted to welcome the Sunday Business Post to the roster of premium brands which continue to choose Radio 1.”
Additionally, Siobhan Lennon, the Post’s commercial director, called the Marian Finucane Show “a national institution.
“The Sunday Business Post stands for independent journalism on a Sunday,” Lennon said. “As an independent, Irish-owned independent newspaper in the Sunday market, we feel that our product and values as a newspaper make for a perfect fit with Marian’s show.
In recent months, The Sunday Business Post has shown growth across all of our key performance indicators. We now have more than 10 per cent of the Sunday quality newspaper market, after significantly outperforming our competitors in the first six months of the year.
“We look forward to consolidating and continuing our momentum,” Lennon said, “with this deal acting as a cornerstone of our growth going forward.”
