Siobhan Lennon has been appointed chief executive of Sunrise Media, the new holding company for The Sunday Business Post newspaper and Webprint, the Cork-based award-winning printing business.

In her new role, she will oversee the continued development of all aspects of the recently merged businesses.

The board of Sunrise Media endorsed the appointment in recent days, with Lennon taking over the post with immediate effect. She succeeds Paul Cooke who left the business in July this year and sold his shareholding in the newspaper.

Highly experienced in the media industry, Lennon has been the commercial director of The Sunday Business Post for the past three years. She joined from media agency MEC, where she headed up MEC Access. Prior to that, she worked with News International in a number of senior positions, including group client service director.

Conor Killeen, chairman of Sunrise Media, welcomed the appointment, noting that since Lennon’s return three years ago, she has “delivered excellence, performance and leadership for the group.

“The work of our teams in Cork and Dublin in the past few months and years is making a significant positive difference to our readers and clients across the country and abroad,” Killeen added.

Meanwhile Lennon said of her appointment: “We are profitable and I look forward to continuing working with an excellent team in delivering the next phase of the development of the business.”
