Manor Farm has announced a €5 million innovation investment today in the latest phase of a €15 million five-year investment at its processing plant in Shercock, Co Cavan.

€3.3 million is being spent on the installation of IQF (Individual Quick Frozen) freezers. IQF allows for portions of chicken to be individually frozen instead of being block frozen.

A further €1.6 million has been spent by Manor Farm on the upgrade of its water treatment system in line with the plant’s future expansion growth needs.

The family owned chicken producer is also spending a quarter of a million euro on a cook in the bag roast chicken, Really Easy Chicken.

“The production facilities in our plant in Shercock are among the best in class internationally,” said Vincent Carton, managing director of Manor Farm.   “Our continued focus on innovation and new product development is allowing us to tailor our products to meet consumer demand for convenience and taste in the chicken category.”
