Mace stores throughout Ireland will be holding a fundraising day on Friday, 22 November, where they will be donating €1 from each sale of coffee and tea to Mace’s official charity partner, Debra.

Charity partner

Debra, the national charity supporting people affected by epidermolysis bullosa (EB), often referred to as “butterfly skin”, which is a debilitating, excruciating, and relentless disease with no known cure was chosen by Mace’s network of community retailers as their official charity partner until 2026 and this coffee/tea morning is just one way our retailers fundraise.

Mace Run to 40

Mace retailers also recently took part in the Mace Run to 40 initiative, by either walking 40,000 steps or running 40km (individually or with a team) in support of Emma Fogarty, who is a Debra patient ambassador and board member, and who celebrated her 40th birthday by completing the last four km of the Dublin marathon alongside her friend, actor Colin Farrell, who ran the full course.

Fundraising in store

Mace also supports Debra through fundraising in store and donations from selected Mace own brand products and to help promote this latest initiative, Mace has employed the services of talented artist, Giulia Bernardelli, who specialises in creating coffee art.

Giulia has created a very special community image exclusively for Mace incorporating a butterfly, the symbol of Debra, also known as the Butterfly charity.

“It is wonderful to see so many of our Mace stores sign up for the coffee day,” said Keith Crawford,

sales director, Mace.

Crawford noted that hopefully everyone will support by dropping into their local participating Mace store on Friday, 22 November to have a coffee or tea, thereby contributing to the wonderful charity.
