MACE has launched the second year of its Community Grants initiative, inviting local groups and clubs across Ireland to apply for a share of a €50,000 fund designed to support projects that make a positive difference in their communities.
The campaign will award fifty grants of €1,000 each to community organisations, supporting projects that make a positive and lasting difference at a local level.
Returning as the retailer’s biggest community campaign, MACE Community Grants builds on a successful inaugural year that saw widespread participation from local groups and retailer engagement across the MACE network.
Fronted by MACE brand ambassador and former Ireland rugby captain Johnny Sexton, this year’s campaign features a series of videos showcasing three of last year’s grant recipients and the tangible impact the funding has had in their communities.
Commenting on the campaign, Johnny Sexton said: “Local clubs and community groups play an incredibly important role in bringing people together and strengthening communities across Ireland.
“It was inspiring to see the impact last year’s winners made with their grants and I’m delighted to support a campaign that helps even more groups bring their ideas to life.”
Keith Crawford, MACE sales director added: “The success of MACE Community Grants in 2025 demonstrated the strength of our retailer network and our retailers’ connections with their local communities.
“The campaign created real engagement at store level with retailers and their teams playing an active role in supporting local groups and driving awareness.
“We’re delighted to bring the initiative back for a second year, giving our retailers another opportunity to support local organisations that bring a positive benefit to their communities.
“Open to community groups and clubs nationwide, the initiative provides a simple application process.”
Entrants are asked to submit details of their organisation and explain, in 150 words or less, why they deserve to receive funding and how it would benefit their community.
Applications open on 20 August and close on 10 September.
Entries can be submitted by scanning the QR code in MACE stores nationwide or by visiting on mace.ie/mace-community-grants
The campaign will be supported through a national advertising and communications programme, including national and local radio, high impact digital and social media alongside in-store promotion across the MACE retail network.
MACE retailers and store teams will play a central role in driving awareness locally, engaging with community groups and helping to maximise participation within their catchment areas.
