Revenue seize contraband worth over €204,900 in various operations
Revenue officers seize over €204,900 in contraband, including tobacco, cannabis, counterfeit goods and illicit drugs nationwide

Revenue officers seized contraband with an estimated value of over €204,900 in various operations in Dublin, the Midlands, and Rosslare Europort, including tobacco products with an estimated value of over €4,520.
The detections were made as a result of risk profiling and intelligence led operations, and included the following:
- 6.8 kg of herbal cannabis, with an estimated value of over €136,200.
- 65 counterfeit items, with an estimated value of over €55,100.
- Tobacco products, with an estimated value of over €4,520, representing a potential loss to the Exchequer of over €3,450.
- Over 1760 tablets, with an estimated value of over €3,450.
- Various illicit drugs, with an estimated value of over €3,430.
The herbal cannabis and illicit drug seizures were made as a result of risk profiling with assistance of detector dogs Sam and Ciara.
The parcels originated in the USA, the UK, Spain and Thailand, and were destined for various addresses nationwide.
The counterfeit goods were seized as they were confirmed by the Rights Holder to have infringed on Intellectual Property Rights.
Four weapons accessories were also seized.
Investigations into all seizures are ongoing.
These seizures are part of Revenue’s ongoing operations targeting smuggling and shadow economy activity.
