Mace was recently presented with the award for Business Environment initiative and Sustainability Initiative at the Dublin City Neighbourhoods Competition for its innovative eco-friendly planter located outside Mace Beaumont.

Eco-friendly planter

Installed by BWG’s Retail Development team as part of Mace Beaumont’s recent refurbishment, the eco-friendly planter is designed to ensure any rainwater collected from the roof is used in the planter and therefore ensure any toxins and pollutants do not enter the local ecosystems and are instead used to water and sustain the plants in the planter.

Annual competition

The Dublin City Neighbourhoods Competition is an annual competition for communities, schools and businesses in the city organised by Dublin City Council with the aim of bringing about a cleaner, greener environment and to make local areas more attractive for the benefit of all city residents and visitors.

Organised by the Waste Management Section of the City Council, Dublin North Central, for two decades, the awards have recognised the efforts of communities, schools and businesses to bring about a cleaner, greener environment and make local areas more attractive for the benefit of all city residents and visitors.
