BWG Foods’ logistics and transport division shortlisted for SEAI Energy Awards
The forthcoming awards recognise 'exemplary performance and innovation in low emissions transport'

BWG Foods, has been shortlisted for two prestigious awards at the SEAI Energy Awards 2025, for its logistics and transport operation.
The wholesale and retail company has been shortlisted in the Transport category at the event which recognises ‘exemplary performance and innovation in low emissions transport’ and will take place on Thursday 24 October, the Royal Marine Hotel, Dun Laoghaire, Co. Dublin.
BWG’s inclusion as a finalist is based on ‘its successful implementation of various alternative fuels and consolidated loads in addition to creating customised route plans.’
Allied to this, BWG Foods has also been shortlisted for the Sustainable Supply Chain award in the 2024 Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport Ireland (2024 CILT) Mobility & Supply Chain Awards.
Logistics and distribution operations
BWG Foods operates one of Ireland’s largest and most complex logistics and distribution operations which includes a 240,000 square foot National Distribution Centre situated in Kilcarbery in Co. Dublin and a modern delivery fleet that extends to approximately 120 vehicles.
In recent years BWG has added a number of alternatively fuelled vehicles to its fleet, including those powered by bio compressed natural gas (BioCNG), hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO) diesel alternatives and the first electric heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) in the FMCG space in Ireland.
BWG Foods’ sophisticated logistics and distribution operation serves its network of over 1,000 Spar, Eurospar, Mace, Londis, and XL stores, along with 20,000 B2B customers through its wholesale division that includes BWG Foodservice, Corrib Food Products, William’s Gate and a nationwide network of 22 Value Centre and Cash and Carry branches.
