Kering and L’Oréal have recently announced a landmark long-term partnership that unites two of the world’s most influential names in luxury and beauty.

The strategic alliance includes the acquisition of the House of Creed by L’Oréal, along with long-term fragrance and beauty licenses for Kering’s iconic Houses, Gucci, Bottega Veneta and Balenciaga, and a joint venture exploring opportunities in wellness and longevity.

Defining moment

Valued at €4 billion, the deal represents a defining moment for both groups.

L’Oréal will acquire Kering Beauté, including Creed, while securing 50-year exclusive licenses for the development and distribution of fragrance and beauty lines for the three major Houses, following the expiration of existing agreements.

The closing is expected in the first half of 2026.

The partnership builds on the proven success of Yves Saint Laurent Beauté, strengthening the longstanding collaboration between the two global leaders.

It combines Kering’s portfolio of luxury brands with L’Oréal’s unmatched expertise in beauty innovation, distribution and marketing.

A new strategic committee will oversee coordination between the brands, ensuring alignment across creative, commercial and strategic objectives.

Beyond beauty, Kering and L’Oréal will co-develop an exclusive 50/50 joint venture dedicated to the fast-growing wellness and longevity sector.

The initiative will merge L’Oréal’s technological capabilities and research expertise with Kering’s deep understanding of luxury consumers.

Luca de Meo, CEO of Kering, described the partnership as “a decisive step” that will allow Kering’s Houses “to achieve scale in this category and unlock their immense long-term potential.”

L’Oréal Groupe CEO Nicolas Hieronimus added, “This alliance strengthens our position as the world’s leading luxury beauty company and opens new avenues in wellness.

“The addition of Creed, Gucci, Bottega Veneta and Balenciaga significantly expands our reach across dynamic, high-growth segments.”

The agreement remains subject to regulatory approvals and customary conditions but signals a major shift in the luxury beauty landscape, one that will likely redefine the boundaries between fashion, beauty, and wellness for decades to come.
