Johnston Mooney & O’Brien, Ireland’s oldest bakery company has won the bakery category Hygiene and Food Safety Q Mark Award.

Manufacturing director, Eamon Phelan said: “This is the first time that Johnston Mooney & O’Brien has won this award and the recognition it brings is very important to the company and it also means a huge amount to our staff.”

“Our whole company ethos revolves around the importance of product quality and never compromising on standards. Irish consumers are very savvy when it comes to food choices, especially when it comes to fresh bread and buns, given our high consumption and fondness for both. This award serves as a great reassurance to our consumers that we have not and will not compromise on our product quality and processes.”

The company has been in existence for the past 176 years.
