Heineken teamed up with two of Ireland’s biggest soccer and rugby stars – Manchester United legend and Champions League winner Denis Irwin and Heineken Cup winning Munster champion Anthony ‘Axel’ Foley to officially launch Heineken Star Saturday.

Heineken, the official sponsor of The UEFA Champions League and The Heineken Cup, celebrates both tournament finals on the one day; Saturday, 22 May. Rugby and soccer fans will be able to enjoy the excitement and adrenalin of both finals as the Heineken Cup kicks off at 5pm and the UEFA Champions League final kicks off at 7.45pm. Heineken is encouraging soccer and rugby fans to visit their local pub on Heineken Star Saturday for these sporting events. 

As Heineken gears up for the biggest day on the sporting calendar, it is supporting on trade accounts outside of those already on the current official merchandise list with a new online POS ordering facility built into the website. The new simple system means accounts can order a tailored suite of POS delivered to their door for free to enhance the venue during what is promising to be the biggest day in the sporting calendar.
