DMG Media launches new website Extra.ie

DMG Media Ireland has launched its latest website extra.ie, a news, sport, business and entertainment website for Irish consumers

Daily Mail Group has this week launched Extra.ie, a news, sport, business and entertainment website tailored for mobile users. Extra.ie was devised as a response to the changing patterns of news consumption in Ireland, and has been tailored for “the small screen” – once a euphemism for television, but now it seems a byword for that even smaller screen, the smart phone.
Extra.ie has been designed and built in-house at DMG, incorporating insights and research on how and when Irish people consume media.
“We have used insight and learnings from our other websites to create something that will satisfy 25-55 year-olds in both style and tone,” says Paul Henderson, CEO of DMG Media Ireland. “The reaction from audiences and advertisers at this early stage has been incredible.
“We look forward to connecting with our readers in the coming months,” he added.
