Today comedian Jason Byrne was joined by TV presenter and proud Corkonian, Sinead Quinlan as they launched the ‘Mind Your Loaf’ show, supported by Gallaghers Bakehouse. Mind Your Loaf is a virtual online event on Saturday July 3rd from 10am – 1pm. Tickets are priced at €25 (incl. a donation to Alone) and are available from www.mindyourloaf.com. The event will remain online for seven days to attendees.

Over the three hours, Jason and Sinead will host a number of keynote speakers and guests including comedian Bernard O’Shea, psychologist and bass player with The Blizzards Louize Carroll, Dublin GAA player and sports psychologist Philly McMahon, Coach John Kavanagh on fitness of the brain and body, breathing expert, author and Irish free diving record holder Claire Walsh, mindfulness advocate Pat Divilly, wellbeing author Gavin Oates, author Sarah Knight and others.

Creator of the Mind Your Loaf show Jason Byrne spoke on the importance of looking after our mental health. “We’re all coming out of lockdown, covid numbers are dropping, it’s great news. Or is it? We are all expected to get back to the way we were, but that will take time and we’ll need help doing it,” he said.

“Our mental health has been battered and broken by this awful pandemic, job losses, loved ones passed away, dogs over walked. It’s enough to break anyone, and when you’re broken, you need fixing.  Most of us, including myself do not have the income to cover ongoing help – our livelihoods are impacted, and therapy comes at a cost that most of us just can’t afford. So – where do we go? The Mind Your Loaf show is designed to help with an affordable approach to mental health, and having fun while doing it!.”

Mary Horkan, marketing manager of Gallaghers Bakehouse said the bakery is delighted to support the new show. “We at Gallaghers Bakehouse are celebrating our new range of healthy sourdough breads ,” she said, “and are delighted to support the fantastic Mind Your Loaf show hosted by Jason Byrne and Sinead Quinlan, long time advocates of wellbeing.  As we emerge from Covid lockdown looking after your mental health is imperative and our range of healthy and nutritional breads ties in with a healthy lifestyle promoted by this event.”

“We are all like radio stations, sometimes we just need someone to tune us in,” Byrne added. “This is where I believe that Mind Your Loaf can help us all. Sinead and I can guarantee movement, breathing and barrels of laughter as we tackle mental health and try to make it a healthy journey for all.”
