Providing a first-class diverse offering day in, day out, requires dedicated suppliers who make the necessary effort to understand and deliver on the standard and range of produce that consumers today demand. This year’s C-Store Supplier of the Year 2010 title, was awarded to Cuisine de France, a company that has made a mammoth effort to do just that. In fact, the company has now scooped the top accolade for its eighth consecutive year.

Service to shout about

In a statement, the company said: “It is a great honour for Cuisine de France to be voted supplier of the year again, at the 2010 c-store awards . We are immensely proud of having won this title eight years in a row.  Our success is only made possible through the partnership we have developed jointly, with you, the retailer.  The c-store awards are an exceptional medium for showcasing convenience retailing at its best, rewarding dedication and ensuring high standards remain a part of Irish retailing.

“2010 will be remembered as a difficult year for the convenience sector, with many stores closing and others struggling to keep their doors open in a tough trading environment. This makes it all the more important for convenience stores to concentrate on offering value, service and a sense of community to their local shopper. We, at Cuisine de France, have continued to invest in developing the unique role of the Irish convenience sector via innovative programmes such as Programme Shout. Programme Shout is designed to train and support stores to deliver best in class in-store bakery execution, merchandising and consumer communication. Programme Shout has already been rolled out to over 90 stores with great success, and the rollout will continue in 2011.”

The company concluded that the year ahead will be challenging, but as the c-store awards show, through dedication and commitment it is possible to make a winning difference.

Out of this world

Mars Ireland was also named one of c-store retailers’ top 10 suppliers of the year in 2010. Betty Quigley, category business unit head snackfood, Mars Ireland, commented: “Mars Ireland is extremely proud to be short-listed this year for the  Supplier of the Year award at the ShelfLife C-Store Awards. As a company we are customer obsessed and our relationship with our retailers is one of the most important pillars of our business.

“We have been very focused on building mutually beneficial plans with our trade partners across our brands and helping those retailers drive their businesses in these very challenging times is a massive priority. To receive this recognition from the retailers themselves is testament to the great work of our sales team and the strong relationships we have built over the years. We are delighted and honoured to end the year with this wonderful accolade and look forward to a fantastic 2011.”
