‘Ireland’s Biggest Coffee Morning for Hospice Together with Bewley’s’ is proud to confirm it has reached a huge fundraising milestone raising over €2 million during coffee mornings hosted in 2019.

This long-standing partnership has helped raise over €39 million since its inception in 1993, raising vital funds for local hospices and specialist palliative homecare services nationwide.

Last year, homes and businesses across the country hosted 3,691 coffee mornings for this great cause and contributed to this incredible fundraising milestone. The vital funds raised have enabled local hospice groups to fund frontline staff such as nurses and healthcare assistants who provide specialist, high quality and loving care to patients and their families, fund on-going facility enhancements as well as purchasing crucial equipment.

Fintan Fagan, CEO of St Francis Hospice Dublin said the money raised through the initiative is “crucial in ensuring that we continue to meet each individual patient’s needs and to support their families and loved ones at a most difficult time in their lives.

“The demands on specialist hospice in-patient and community services around Ireland are growing each year,” said Fagan, “and as always, we, as providers, want to be able to deliver high quality and responsive services.”

The CEO praised “the incredible generosity of our many supporters, including our dedicated coffee morning hosts, guests, ambassadors and our long-time sponsor Bewley’s. Indeed, we could not do what we do without this ongoing financial support.’’

“To be part of this incredible fundraising milestone is something we are very proud of,” said Jason Doyle, managing director at Bewley’s. “Community and people are at the heart of Bewley’s and caring for people in the local community is what hospice services are all about.”

Registration for Ireland’s Biggest Coffee Morning for Hospice Together with Bewley’s will re-open in the Summer – keep an eye on www.hospicecoffeemorning.ie for registration information.
