The Irish Grocers Benevolent Fund Annual Sports Lunch took place on Friday, 31 August at Dublin’s Aviva Stadium, where a star-studded panel featuring Roy Keane, Henry Shefflin, Shane Byrne and Anna O’Flanagan discussed their careers, the sporting world and more. A full house was in attendance on the day, with MC Sile Seoige was on hand to oversee proceedings.
The event was a complete sell out, with all tables completely sold out within a week of invites going out. 470 guests attended on the day, from a range of major Irish retailers and suppliers in the industry. As a result, it was a great opportunity for networking, all while raising much-needed funds for the Irish Grocers Benevolent Fund. In total, a massive €40,000 was raised from the event this year.
As always, the IGBF Lunch would not have been possible without its sponsors. Follopwing the event, the IGBF offered huge thanks to CIRRO, The Sales Institute, Kelloggs and Mars Ireland, along with all the retailers who donated prizes for the raffle. There was also a special mention for Tesco Ireland, Diageo, Stafford Lynch and FMI. Every contribution added to the day’s success.
