Spar Ireland has brought back ‘Louis’ and ‘Bertie’ in a new €1 million television and radio campaign to help launch a new schedule of Euro Crunch offers. The campaign kicks off with Spar’s back to school promotion, which includes everyday lunchbox items for just €1 in Spar stores nationwide.

The latest television ad uses cutting edge 3D animation and stars caricatures of Westlife manager Louis Walsh and former Taoiseach Bertie Ahern. On-screen the ‘school mates’ engage in typical schoolroom rivalry over who’s done their homework about Spar’s back to school Euro Crunch offers.

Marketing and communications director at Spar Ireland, Suzanne Weldon commented: “The Euro Crunch campaign has been a huge success for our retailers and a big hit with our customers. Our aim is to offer shoppers a rotating selection of products at special Euro Crunch prices and this next phase of the campaign has been targeted to coincide with the back to school period.”

The one million euro adverts feature the voice of mimic Oliver Callan, from RTE’s Nob Nation. The advertising schedule is timed to coincide with the return of Ireland’s pop impresario to the X-Factor, and is accompanied by a major radio campaign.
