Australia and New Zealand Tasting: sip, savour and win a trip
Trade buyers will sample over 350 wines at the Australia and New Zealand Trade Tasting in Dublin this February
18 December 2025
The Australia and New Zealand Trade Tasting will take place at The Alex Hotel in Dublin on 3 February, bringing together producers, importers and trade buyers from both wine-producing countries.
Sommeliers, on-trade buyers and independent off-trade buyers attending the event will be eligible to enter a competition to win a two-week educational trip to Australia in early November. Hosted by Wine Australia’s Emma Symington MW, the itinerary will cover seven wine regions across three states and include a programme of wine, food and tourism visits. Attendance at the Dublin tasting forms part of the entry criteria, along with completion of an online questionnaire outlining the applicant’s interest in visiting Australia.
Over 350 wines
The tasting will feature over 350 wines from 92 producers, spanning established international brands and smaller, boutique wineries. Attendees will have the opportunity to sample current releases, explore alternative grape varieties and emerging styles, and engage directly with winemakers, winery owners and Irish importers.
The event will also showcase 136 wines from producers currently seeking distribution in the Irish market. Australian wines on show will include Barossa Valley Shiraz, Tasmanian still and sparkling wines, McLaren Vale alternative varieties, and Chardonnay from Australia’s first Indigenous-owned wine company. New Zealand wines will include Pét-Nat from North Canterbury, single-vineyard Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, Central Otago Riesling and Gisborne Pinot Gris.
Registration for the Australia and New Zealand Trade Tasting is available by emailing jean@jeansmullen.com. Competition entries must be submitted online by 20 February 2026.
