The Australia Day Tasting – on 30 January in Dublin – is the biggest trade tasting of Australian wine in Ireland.  Following a successful event in 2016, Wine Australia will be back again this January, with even more wines, exhibitors and winemakers.

A must-attend event for the trade, visitors can meet the people behind the wines, discover new varieties and styles, learn about recent trends and see what the future holds for Australian wine.

With a geographical size similar to Europe and a large number of distinct climates, soils and terroirs, it’s no surprise that Australia boasts an array of wine styles, flavours and grape varieties.  To help explore the diversity of Australian wine, the event will showcase more than 250 wines from 46 wineries.

For the first time at any Australia Day Tasting, Wine Australia is showcasing a line-up of wines, chosen not by them and not by the exhibitors, but by members of the Irish wine trade.

Wine Australia approached eight members of the Irish wine trade, who have visited Australia over the last few years, and asked them to nominate wines that ignited a love for Australian wine or with special significance.  The group’s nominations – still, sparkling, sweet and fortified wines – will be open to try in the ‘Inspired Tasting’ area.

Don’t miss the biggest trade tasting of Australian wine in Ireland! It takes place on 30th January at Dublin’s RHA, from 1pm – 6pm.
