The Irish Food Writing Awards 2025 – now open for entries

This is the fifth year of the awards, established to acknowledge the highest achievements in books, journalism, restaurant critiques, feature writing, recipe writing, photography, podcasts and social media on Irish food and drink

The Irish Food Writing Awards 2025 are now open for entries.
The awards ceremony will take place on 13 November in the RDS, Dublin 4.
This is the fifth year of the awards, established to acknowledge the highest achievements in books, journalism, restaurant critiques, feature writing, recipe writing, photography, podcasts and social media on Irish food and drink.
Each year the categories are revised to ‘ensure that they best reflect the current landscape for food and drink content’.
Cookery Writing Award
According to the event organisers Begleys Fresh Produce has been confirmed as the sponsor of the Cookery Writing Award.
Commenting on the new category sponsor, Suzanne Campbell, founder, Irish Food Writing Awards, said: “We are delighted to partner with such a great family food business who began selling fruit and vegetables in Dublin in the 1950s.
“It’s wonderful to see their huge success aligned with sustainability, and to have their support for Irish writers and journalists working in food and drink.”
Last year’s winner of this prestigious award was Lilly Higgins of the Irish Times, and previous winners include chefs and food writers Jess Murphy and Beth O’Brien.
