2019 was another successful year for the H2 group of forecourt businesses, two of whose stores were winners at the ShelfLife C-Store Awards, which took place at Dublin’s Citywest Hotel in November.

Texaco Spar Parkway Service Station in Limerick was winnner of the overall award on the night – a remarkable showing, given that it just opened its doors two months previously. Meanwhile, the Texaco Service Station in Celbridge, Co. Kildare was winner of the award for Small Forecourt of the Year.

Both sites are part of the H2 group of stores, which was established in 2004 by Kerry businessman Sean Heaphy. The H2 Group consists of 12 forecourt businesses and employs 360 people.

Other outlets within the H2 Group can  be found Kerry, Tipperary, Kildare, Dublin, Offaly, Limerick and Cork, the majority of them operating under the Texaco brand.

The fourth generation of his family to join the grocery business, Heaphy is a member of the National Council of Spar Retailers and one of a representative body of 12 nominated retailers that works with BWG management on the development of group strategy and the implementation of group policies. He is also an executive member of the IPRA – the Independent Petrol Retailers Association in Ireland.

Over the past 10 years, H2 Group has won numerous other industry awards, one being the Deloitte Best Managed Company Award.
