Taste Cork brings local foodie flair to Cork Airport

Over the coming months, passengers at Cork Airport will begin to see a growing number of Taste Cork products appearing at the Aspire Lounge and at other retail outlets throughout the airport.

Taste Cork is a regional branding initiative created to promote Cork’s food sector and to develop a network for local food businesses. This collaborative project is a focal point for Cork food producers and is supported by the Local Enterprise Offices together with Cork County Council and Cork City Council.

“Cork Airport is our gateway to the world,” says Joe Bourke of the Local Enterprise Office, South Cork, “so we are delighted to work with their team and with the Aspire Lounge to bring some Cork foodie flair to passengers.

“Cork has always been at the heart of the Irish food and drink sector,” he says, “and our reputation as a world class food region continues to grow, as more consumers experience Cork’s exceptional products and visitors to the region delve into our rich and innovative food culture.”

The Aspire Lounge at Cork Airport now features a carefully curated menu that includes signature Cork products such as: Clonakilty Black Pudding, Ballymaloe Relish, Bandon Co-op butter, Irish Yogurts from Clonakilty and Barry’s Tea, alongside a wealth of Irish and international favourites.

Its well-stocked bar brings guests a range of artisanal gins and vodkas crafted at the multi-award-winning St. Patrick’s Distillery, located at Douglas Mills, just a 10-minute drive from Cork Airport. You couldn’t get much more local than that!

These small batch gins and vodkas are made with entirely natural ingredients. The gins come in several varieties, each with its own unique character, ranging from traditional dry gin, to sloe and honey and even elderflower infusions.
