Fine weather seems to bring out our sociable sides according to PostPoint, Ireland’s leading e-transaction provider with a network of 3,000 retailers nationwide, who report that Irish customers are 10% more likely to top up their mobile phones and 40% more likely to purchase stamps during the summer months when compared with the earlier and colder months of the year.

According to Susan Weldon, this is no surprise considering that the majority of regular Irish pre-pay phone customers are young adults between 15 to 17 years of age.  “I imagine that this is directly related to the significant amount of free time available to young people during the summer holidays,” Susan suggests. “Teenagers who once saw each other on a daily basis in the classroom now have to stay connected through the use of their mobile phones”.

Additionally, the demand for stamps will soar during the summer holiday period. Emma Flanagan says, “Many people enjoy the tradition of sending a postcard from Irish holiday destinations to their family and friends.  Also for the thousands of teenagers in the Gaeltacht this year and every year, posting letters home is part and parcel of the summer months”.

PostPoint makes it easier for retailers to satisfy their customer’s needs in both respects with the helpful introduction of www.postpoint.ie where information on both stamp retailing and mobile top-up retailing facilities are available at the click of a button.

Retailers wishing to order stamps on line and have their stores promoted on a special PostPoint ‘stamp locator’ site can go directly to www.postpoint.ie/stampretailer and log in using their unique stamp agent ID.

Many stores around the country have already opted in for PostPoint stamp retailing and the top selling stamp stores were recognised with a new internal POS makeover earlier this year.

In addition, full suites of POS for mobile top up services are available by visiting www.postpoint.ie directly.
